Sao Paulo, Brazil. April 27th, 2016 –As every year, the AES Brazil Expo will take place at the Expo Center Norte convention center in Sao Paulo. The convention will run from May 16th to 19th while the exhibition will be from May 17th to 19th.

Powersoft, a world leading manufacturer of professional power amplifiers, announced that it will present working methodologies and loudspeaker application scenarios on its patented M-Force linear motor technology.

The conference - entitled “A New High Performance Moving Magnet Acoustic Transducer” - will take place on Tuesday, May 17th at 3 pm and will be conducted by Claudio Lastrucci, R&D Director at Powersoft, who will articulate the benefits of this new technology, including improved conversion efficiency and sound quality in the lower frequency range as well as significantly lower distortion.

Don’t miss this conference to stay updated on the latest technology developed by our company!

Introducing the M-Force

The M-Force is an innovative and unique transducer based on a patented moving magnet linear motor structure. Unbelievable performance in terms of power handling, electromagnetic conversion, reliability and maximum SPL are a few of the incredible innovative features and improvements with respect to conventional moving coil arrangement.

The speakers technology remained pretty the same since its first creation one century ago. There have been many improvements on the materials and today it is possible to reach a performance level that no one thought in the past.

But the available power thanks to switching amplifiers (class-D technology, the core of Powersoft products) can overcome any physical limitations of modern loudspeakers. Furthermore, we can take advantage of the specific features of this new amplification technology.

In fact, a switching amplifier can drive easier a very inductive load that would be a pain for a linear amplifier. Also, the Back Electromotive Force (BEMF) - that is the voltage against the current that the amplifier puts in the transducer in order to reproduce the sound - represents an energy to recycle into the bank capacitor of the power supply, instead of a heat to dissipate.

Then, speaking about the M-Force, we are talking about a complete system that brings every part at its maximum level: the amplifier, the transducer and the DPC technology.

Having the motor and some different type diaphragms separately, allows the manufacturer to build its system with so many degrees of freedom, where the fantasy is the only limit.

It is possible to build a 30” subwoofer with the same size of a double 18” but with the output of three double 18” boxes, fewer mains circuits and less power consumption. Furthermore, to not underrate, a lower space in the warehouse and in the truck for the same SPL!

“Speaking about the sonic characteristics, this new technology is amazing: never heard a so solid and deep bass frequency. The feeling is different, more “physical” than with a conventional system. Thanks to the DPC technology, the manufacturer can also tune the sonic result based on the specific application. The same technology allows maintaining the whole performance over the time”, comments Massimo Minardi, Powersoft’s Sales Manager for OEM and M Systems.

This innovative and unique transducer is fast achieving real-world application in the industry. The M-Force is offering loudspeaker manufacturers a new option for low frequency applications and this is getting real day after day. For example, AudioFocus showcased for the first time at the recent PL+S its TS40 infra sub powered by Powersoft M-Force linear motor, Funktion One launched its F132 sub with M-Force and APIA Audio also launched the RSM-FORCE — a double 22” sub. These companies - in addition to D.A.S. Audio, Aura Audio, EAW Avalon Subs and ATK - have already developed their subwoofer systems using Powersoft technology.

Another important fact at the expo is that Powersoft’s distributor in Brazil, Universal Music, will be participating on the show for the first time with the brands they distribute including Powersoft, Eighteen Sound and Clair Brothers. There will also be the presence of River Music, Universal Music’s main dealer in Brasil for Powersoft.

On the stand, Universal Music will showcase the breadth of Powersoft amplification and technology offering, including the M and K Series amplifiers as well as the revolutionary M-Force technology and the successful X Series, plus our “Armonía Pro Audio Suite” Control Software, an essential tool to setup and tune any kind of loudspeaker system and its perfect combination with Powersoft’s products.

If you would like to find out more on Powersoft amplifiers please stop by Universal Music’s booth at Aisle C/D/4 #15/16/17/18 and come see Claudio’s conference on Tuesday.

See you in Sao Paulo!
