When users need to be informed

When an actively exploited vulnerability or severe security incident affecting a product triggers the applicable reporting and user-information requirements, Powersoft assesses the affected products and user population and selects suitable communication channels.

Communication channels

Depending on the circumstances, information may be communicated directly to known affected users and through relevant distributors, integrators or support contacts. A public security advisory may supplement these channels where appropriate.

What a communication may include

  • Identification of the affected product(s) and software/firmware versions, when known.
  • A plain-language summary of the security impact and affected configurations.
  • Mitigating steps users can take immediately.
  • Instructions for applying corrective firmware or software updates when available.
  • A contact point for product-specific follow-up.

Important: This informational text does not replace notifications to competent authorities. Mandatory CRA manufacturer reports are submitted separately through ENISA's Single Reporting Platform, under an internal procedure.
