D-Cell504 modules installed at Igreja Vivendo em Cristo, Sao Paulo

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL, MARCH 24, 2010 – Powersoft, a world industry-leading manufacturer of superior quality digital power amplifiers for the professional audio market, is pleased to announce the installation of D-Cell504 power amplifier modules into the new sound system at Igreja Vivendo em Cristo, one of the largest churches located in the São Paulo region. The church recently updated its sound system incorporating the D-Cell504 Power Amplifier Modules because of the reduced size and high power efficiency of the modules. The D-Cell504 was an ideal fit for the church’s audio requirements.

Igreja Vivendo em Cristo called upon Fernando Fortes, a sound system designer; Fernando Grossi, a systems integrator, and technical consultants Celson do Prado and Antonio Soares for the project. Tasked with supplying an effective audio system for the 500 seat capacity facility, the team specified an Eighteen Sound system constituted with 16 line-array self-powered speakers amplified with 16 Powersoft D-Cell504 modules and four self-powered subwoofers. The installation also involved six-floor monitors, also with D-Cell504 modules.

“The efficiency of the speakers and the clarity and quality of sound are the major considerations for this kind of environment,” says Fortes. “The power of the Powersoft D-Cell504 modules just doesn’t match their size. The modules are so small and sound so good that it’s difficult to imagine that it could achieve that overall final quality.”

Powersoft’s D-Cell504 amplifier module brings together all the advantages of its patented switch mode power supply and fixed frequency PPM-PWM modulation technologies onto one product that represents the state-of-the-art Class-D technology. The stereo amp unit can deliver up to 350W @ 4 Ohm per channel in SE mode, or 700W @ 8 Ohm in bridged mode. The unit features six different types of protections, load monitoring for transducer diagnostics and an optional 2in/4out SigmaDSP processor (you need only one DSP to manage two amp units), easily programmable with Analog Devices’ SigmaStudio. A key feature of D-Cell504 is its versatility, thanks to the ability of the power supply to drive two amp units. This allows the user to easily power simple bi-amped systems, stereo or mono loudspeakers as well as complex multistage systems, subwoofer, and satellites or three-way loudspeakers.
